Ħemda Sagra - Solo Exhibition by Jessica Vella

Maltese artist Jessica Vella presents Ħemda Sagra, a solo exhibition of paintings exploring sacred stillness within familiar Maltese spaces. The exhibition will take place at the Sagrestia Vault, Valletta Waterfront. 

Set within a historic vault connected to a chapel, Ħemda Sagra invites visitors into a quiet encounter with light, colour, and contemplation. Through vibrant yet restrained palettes, Vella’s paintings capture moments that feel inhabited by memory.

The works draw inspiration from Maltese architecture, coastal scenes, and devotional spaces, reimagined not as landmarks, but as places of inward stillness.

Ħemda Sagra is an invitation to slow down, to observe, and to experience stillness as something sacred and alive.
