The Secret Story of Malta Comes Alive at Valletta Waterfront
Step into an evening of myth, mystery and Mediterranean adventure as Valletta Waterfront transforms into an open-air stage for Cagliostro & The Pirate Queen – The Secret Story of Malta.
Launching in summer 2026, this free weekly spectacle brings Malta's maritime legends to life every Tuesday at 7.30pm on the central Valletta Waterfront promenade.
Blending theatre, music, period costume and storytelling, the 20-minute show offers a playful reimagining of Malta's maritime past. Rather than a traditional historical re-enactment, it brings to life the myths, mysteries and untold stories that have long shaped the island's imagination.
Produced by Ron Briffa, written by Sean Buhagiar, and performed by Jeremy Grech, Analise Mifsud, and Sean Briffa.
At the heart of the story are two larger-than-life characters: Count Alessandro Cagliostro, the enigmatic figure whose connection to Malta continues to intrigue storytellers, and The Pirate Queen, a fictional heroine inspired by the daring spirit of the Mediterranean corsair era.
As twilight settles over the bastions, the harbour itself becomes part of the stage.
